| There are many opportunities in this area of our Affiliate.
We need individuals, service companies and groups with a wide verity of
skills.
Construction is broken into
three parts.
Part
1. We are in need of individuals who have a home building background who
will work with the construction supervisor (House Leader) helping to
supervise the building of a home. This is a one day per week
activity until the home is completed which is normally four months.
Part
2. If you have a background in a trade your services would be greatly
appreciated. Again this is mostly a one-day week schedule until the
trade you are assisting with is completed.
Part
3. We can always use general labor to help do non-technical work. This
also is a one-day a week opportunity to help a needy person get a home.
We
normally work on a home two days a week, one-week day (normally
Wednesday) and always on Saturday. You may elect to work either day or
both days (or a full day or half day either day) if you have the time.
From
time to time we need help in the following areas and if you are registered with us and on
the database we can call upon you when the need arises.
If
you can:
- Use
a hammer
- Use
a rack
- Operate
a power tool
- Carry
or hold material for the carpenter or other trade
- Paint
- Caulk
